Bear is back home and curled up on the rug by the fireplace as soon as we walked in the door. When I am away for my book work I usually leave Bear at a boarders in Midland, they take really good care of him and he gets to interact and play with other dogs.
It is very cold outside tonight, the temperature has already dropped to freezing it is supposed to reach minus five by three in the morning. It was foggy earlier but that has moved toward the east and the mainland.
I finished decorating the Gathering shelter for Christmas and now I am spending every free moment preparing for winter. I have a stock pile of canned goods and frozen meat and fish that will last throughout the winter months. For water there is a pump near the shed, the water is good and they tested it when they put the parcel up for sale so I know it is safe.
I have stocked up on records and dvds just in case the radio and television reception are bad with the upcoming storms. The worst of winter is yet to come.
