Did you know your cache can fill up and slow down your experience inworld and hypergridding can make it even worse?
Users can experience the following symptoms: slower rezzing times, missing prims, missing mesh, missing terrain or environment features, slow loading inventory and more.
Before filing a complaint with the grid try clearing your cache.
For Firestorm x64 5.0.7^ users, look into this menu in your pull down menu options at the top of your screen:
Avatar > Preferences > Network & Files > Directories > Clear Inventory Cache and Clear Cache; then,
Avatar > Preferences > Network & Files > Connection > Clear Browser Cache,
If your experience is really bad when you log out you might want to reboot your computer to clear the graphics card memory.
When you return to the grid you will experience short delays as your viewer relearns everything it sees. This won't take long and is certainly better than the experience that led you to needing to clear cache.
As a suggestion you might want to make sure that your Cache is at maximum storage capacity, this reduces the number of overload incidents and can lengthen the time between incidents of slow rezzing, et cetera (if you don't hypergrid at all). I have mine set to the max 9984. Avatar > Preferences > Network & Files > Directories.
For more advice see the Phoenix Firestorm information here. I disagree with the problems they claim clearing cache won't fix as I've fixed a couple of these with clearing cache.
I personally perform a clear cache once per month as part of my routine and after every time the grid has been offline for updates or maintenance.
Clearing cache may not always fix the problem. If you are on wifi or satellite internet these can be factors. You might want to try restarting your region from the GCG website > Members Login (not from your Viewer). Note that having multiple Windows open during your online time can also cause delays and lag issues, try running no more than 1 Window other than your Viewer while you play online. Finally, if neither works, submit a ticket.
