Manitou Wind Services announced today they are installing a fourth wind turbine in Manitou to meet the growing demands of the community. The addition of four new homes on the former Silversmith Farms lands, two new Market Parks in Meaford along with some industrial developments have increased the demand for electricity in the town.
The Regional Municipality of Manitou granted a permit to Manitou Wind Services for the construction of a maximum of six wind turbines if the demand warranted further development. In ideal conditions the four turbines operating at full capacity will generate approximately eight to twelve megawatts of electricity for the continent.
