This is a personal appeal from Kevin M. Klerks (aka Winter Silversmith, Editor/Owner of the Corran Journal) to the people reading this article. Please help! Devastating wildfires are spreading across north-eastern Alberta in the Fort McMurray / Wood Buffalo area. To date over 88,000 residents have been evacuated in the largest wildfire evacuation in Alberta history. And it's not over :(
You can help by donating to the Canadian Red Cross.
You can show your love and support for the people of Alberta by displaying our provincial flag outside your home or business in the Great Canadian Grid. Please share in your groups how people can donate to the Canadian Red Cross.
We have free flags with poles available at the community area in downtown Meaford, GCG. Look for the giant Alberta flag, the free one is available below it.
Addendum: I just made a $100 Canadian donation to the Canadian Red Cross efforts in northern Alberta. I understand that two of my GCG friends have also donated, thank you!! ~KMK
