"It just hovered there for a minute or two before it darted off to the west over the ocean and then it was gone" said Bill D'Rite, construction foreman for Manitou Tourism's Memorial Park project. "It was early evening and we were installing street lights when a couple members of my crew noticed it was very bright in the park" The photo was taken by one of the crew members who requested to keep their name out of the news. "A couple of my guys were pretty shaken up, I've seen some strange things in this job, even dug up a body one time while building a house, but never seen a ufo before." said Bill.
Manitou Air Traffic Control (MATC) reported an anomaly was detected on their radar from 1935 hours to 1939 hours but it matched no known aircraft and no aircraft were over Manitou at the time of the sighting. The craft did, however, match the description of a unidentified flying object detected over Massey on February 9 of this year.
This is the second incident in the area involving a similar unidentified craft. Read about the first encounter here. "This land was undeveloped before, maybe it just wanted to see what we were up to" Bill suggested.
