"We have approved the construction of a new medical clinic and pharmacy in Meaford, GCG to meet the health care needs of our growing community" Winter Silversmith CAO Manitou Tourism told the Corran Journal this morning.
The new walk-in clinic joins the Westerville Medical Centre, located in Mud River, to provide quality health care to the citizens and visitors of Manitou regions. The new medical clinic is accessible on foot and centrally located near the intersection of Massey, Meaford and Manitou regions in the Great Canadian Grid.
"The municipality has built a new parking lot in Meaford, GCG to serve the clinic and included a special wheelchair rental station to aid patients who may face accessibility challenges" said Abel Tooelp, MD, who transferred to the new clinic from another region.
The new 485 prim clinic is for less critical care service such as broken bones, elder care and the more day to day care. Any patients in dire need of emergency services will be delivered to the nearby fire station and flown to the medical centre in Mud River, GCG.
