Recently you may have noticed a new hashtag appearing in notices and on Facebook and Google Plus. The hashtag #myGCG was created by Winter Silversmith and has been adopted by various individuals and groups including GCG Pulse and now the Corran Journal.
The hashtag is being used by everyone to promote the Great Canadian Grid as their home and the place to come for events and activities. #myGCG is about taking personal pride and a sense of ownership in our community and making sure that the world knows about it.
Readers in Facebook and Google Plus can click on the #myGCG to bring up all postings and pics that have the hashtag attached to them. The hashtag promotion has been accepted by Roddie Macchi, Owner of the Great Canadian Grid to be used by any member "whatever helps promote us :)" he told Winter Silversmith when during the weekend.
"We have a sign available that I'm passing out to anyone who wants to display it, please hang it up at your club or near your landing zones on your regions to get the word out there" Winter Silversmith told the Corran Journal today. "We encourage people to come up with their own slogans too when they use the hashtag. For example I posted a notice that said 'Live music events... that's #myGCG' anything like that that shows readers you a proud to be a part of our great community and the activities we hold in it".
If you would like a copy of the sign, designed by Maxwell Bricker, just ask Winter Silversmith or check the GCG Events group for notice attachments.
