The historical Lloydminster Abbey is for rent as a residential parcel. The Regional Municipality of Manitou purchased the building from the Catholic Church last fall during a liquidation of surplus church owned properties. The municipality renovated the building to updated building code standards while preserving its landmark title.
The Manitoulin Historical Society published the history of this location last year when it was named to the list of historical buildings in Manitou. "1874 The Lloydminster Abbey is built in Midland. It is originally used to house nuns of the Saint Francis parish. It plays a pivotal role during World War II as a hospital for injured soldiers. It received Historical Landmark designation in 2016."
The two storey building and 2,704 square metre grounds include 1,000 personal prims for only MC$ 100 per week. Contact Winter Silversmith for a copy of the Covenant and to rent this location today.
