An early morning fire has destroyed the historic Silversmith Farm in the RP inclusion zone of Manitou. The fire broke out just after nine this morning and it is believed to have started when sparks escaped from the fireplace igniting nearby textiles.
The Silversmith Farm has played a significant role in theRiverLands medieval RP lately after Winter Silversmith inherited the farm from his late brother Helmut. The farm house was in excellent condition and used by Winter during RolePlay.
The Regional Municipality of Manitou has been attempting to develop the land, during the past few months, as residential housing. The court recently blocked the development plan citing "historical landmark" reasons. The historic nature of the property includes the nearby barn and bridges so the fire does not affect the courts ruling.
Winter Silversmith spoke with the Corran Journal at the conclusion of the blaze and stated that there will be no plans to rebuild the cottage due to the historical designation of the parcel. "The fire will be fit in to the existing RolePlay in the next couple days" he said.
