The Regional Municipality of Manitou Tourism development committee has announced the construction of a new Arena District for the Mud River community. The approved plans call for the demolition of three unoccupied residential structures, one commercial structure and the construction of a new parkway and off ramp into the city. The project is expected to cost over two thousand prims and take several days to complete.
The positive impact on the community will be increased tourism, the negatives is the loss of three residential units in the Great Canadian Grid real estate market. "The impact will be nominal economically" Winter Silversmith told the Corran Journal "the homes are not rented and haven't been since they were constructed. The nearby nuclear plant has always been a deterrence for people to rent the units so we are re-developing the region for entertainment purposes".
The Arena building is a contribution of Tigerkitti Eberdene and similar in design to the one constructed on her region of CFB Wilson. The Arena in that region was the first of its kind to be constructed in the Great Canadian Grid and, as will the Manitou one, will hopefully some day include scripts to make it an active build. The new Arena District construction is already underway in Mud River and is expected to be completed around March 18th.
